last night a few of us saw a great documentary, visual acoustics: the modernism of julius shulman. this film is an interesting look back on the brilliant architectural photographers life. i have been obsessed with southern california modernism and am very familiar with shulman's work but did not know much about his story. this is a charming look at his life, career and relationships with the great modern architects of our time. it is showing now in very limited release and i highly recommend checking it out.
